Makeup For Workout – Should you go for it?

There is no rule per se that you should not wear makeup to the gym or during a workout. A little touch of glamour is always good to lift your spirits when you are pumping iron or sweating on the treadmill.

Dermatologists, however, recommend the no-makeup look during workouts. This is what Dr. Sam Bunting a leading London dermatologist has to say on this subject.

"Some makeup can interfere with the way your body regulates your temperature and end up trapping sweat in your pores, which can lead to bacterial issues and breakouts. It’s OK to wear makeup while you work out, as long as you use non-comodegenic products that won’t clog your pores.”

However, exercising today is more a social activity than a workout and a little makeup is in order. Here is a guideline to the best makeup for working out, one that you can safely use while sweating out.

•If you find that liquid foundation is too heavy for training, use a good quality mineral powder which is sweat and water-resistant as well as oil-free and non-comedogenic. Hence, it will neither clog your pores nor lead to breakouts and rashes. Further, mineral powder ensures sheer to full coverage and has anti-inflammatory and anti-aging benefits.

•For early morning jogging in the park, use makeup with a high-factor sunscreen, regardless of the weather. A water-resistant foundation with SPF will not turn cakey on your face as it is oil-free and has pigment particles that cling with sweat to the surface, leading to long-lasting coverage.

•Some people, though rare, break out into rashes, allergies, and acne after using heavy sweat-proof makeup formulations. If you are one of them, use a cooling cheek tint that has a “breathable” formula free of oil, gluten, and toxic chemicals such as parabens. Take a small quantity and blend it into the high-rise of your cheeks for a flush that will last through the workout.

•Use waterproof mascaras that will not smudge even during the most strenuous workouts. While buying them, look for ones that have light ingredients and conditioners like ceramide, Vitamin E and collagen. The usual ordinary formulas will leave your lashes dry and crunchy and devoid of moisture.

•Any makeup that has heavy formulas creates an occlusive barrier on the skin, reducing the “breathing” properties of the skin. This results in rashes, and breakouts. The ideal for workouts is an oxygenated formula with Ceravitae that supplies skin cells with oxygen to prevent blocked pores. The SPF level of these formulas is around 25 which are best for working outdoors at dawn or indoors at the gym.

These are some of the best makeup for working out that should definitely be a part of your makeup kit.

Beauty care routine - The importance of adapting to the changing seasons

Skin is the human body's biggest and quickest developing organ. Therefore, it unarguably merits our time, consideration and care.

In light of this, a significant number of us don't mind spending heavily on a multitude of skincare items to assure it gets the most ideal treatment, and as it should be. Be that as it may, many of us often wonder why our favorite product stops producing the same results as it used to out of the blue.

Truth be told, there is nothing wrong with the product itself. There is a well-founded line of thought behind the unexpected stoppage of the usual results it earlier delivered. And that is the seasonal changes that we come across as the year passes. As our skin is confronted by with acute imbalances of temperature and humidity, it behooves us to change our beauty care products accordingly.

Even the cosmetics industry is awake to the seasonal changes and how it can affect one’s skin care regimen. For example, there are many brands that come out with sweat proof foundation in Australia the moment summers set in. In case you are unsure of what products might suit your skin with the coming season, it is advisable to get in touch with your dermatologist or a professional beauty expert. Whether it’s the summers or the winters, it is imperative to know about how your skin feels as the climate changes.
